Wroxham Train Station

Bure Valley Railway Wroxham Station

Wroxham Station is the southern terminus of the Bure Valley Railway, where your nostalgic steam journey to Aylsham begins. Travel the railway through to the market town of Aylsham, or make a day of it, exploring Wroxham itself - often called the “Capital of the Norfolk Broads.”

At the station you’ll find a ticket office, small shop, free parking and accessible facilities, as well as Buffer Stop Books. For enthusiasts, the station has two main platforms, a siding, and a working turntable where locomotives are released and turned for their return journeys. Both platforms have water cranes, offering a close-up view of steam engines being refilled and prepared for service. It’s a blend of practical facilities and authentic railway charm.

Wroxham & Hoveton

Just a short walk from the station brings you into the heart of Wroxham and Hoveton, twin villages straddling the River Bure. Known as the hub of the Norfolk Broads National Park, this is where many visitors hire boats, join river cruises, or simply enjoy watching the busy waterside life and feeding the ducks.

Shops, Cafés and Pubs

Wroxham is home to the famous Roys of Wroxham, along with a mix of small independent shops, riverside boutiques, cosy cafés, tearooms and welcoming pubs with views over the River Bure - ideal for anything from a quick coffee to relaxed family dining in the “Capital of the Broads.” Nearby you’ll also find a range of popular local attractions, from boat trips to family-friendly activities.
